The Galena Hotels Are Booking Up

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

The list of Galena hotels that I printed off looked like every other city that I had visited. Then I looked a little closer and discovered that they had a Galena bed and breakfast and then I knew that it was not like every other cities list. It is very rare to find a nice place that makes you feel like home when you are there. If you can find a bed and breakfast when traveling, it is a nice change of pace.

I called to try and make reservations at the Galena bed and breakfast for the weekend that we would be traveling through, and they were already booked up. I was so sad, but the woman told me that sometimes peoples plans change and they cancel so they keep a list of names, in case that happens.

I had to choose from one of the other Galena hotels, just in case there were no cancellations, and we had to have somewhere to sleep. I was just going to hold out hope that someone would change their mind or have to move things around and we would get to stay at the bed and breakfast. If not, then I would just book earlier in the year, the next time we decide to travel through there again.

The Neighbors Are Getting Wrought Iron Doors

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

My neighbors just told me that they are going to be having some construction done on their house and new windows and doors too. I asked them what kind of doors, since I had been thinking about doing that too. They told me that they were going with some wrought iron doors that would also have a matching gate that leads to their back garden.

I guess that we will not be having matching doors; since there is no way that I could afford to put wrought iron doors on my entire house. I might be able to afford front doors, or possible storm doors for the entire house made of iron but my neighbors must be paying a fortune to have all four doors around their house replaced.

I am thinking of sticking to just the normal fiberglass door with the pretty insert. At least, I can afford to have them all matching at their affordable price. I cannot wait to see how the neighbors house turns out, I bet it will look really nice. Maybe if I start saving now, I can afford to put iron doors on my house when I am about eighty years old. If not, it will not be anything that I lose sleep over.
